Book Thief.

I bought Syd this pile of books.
Each chosen by me because I like the words, and the artwork, and the beautiful tales they tell. All books I recommended over and over again when I worked in a bookshop. I purchased the board book versions to avoid torn pages from grabby baby fingers, envisioning afternoons with my babies’ rapt attention as we quietly read together.
Sydney however is an individual of strong character and has spent all day stealing these books off the shelf.
The same three repeatedly. I can recommend them all as great reads, but I think even the Jupitus book is beyond his understanding, with it’s heart warming tales of a life in and around music radio. Sydney is not old enough to be exposed to the tales of a Teenage Sex Pistol just yet, and as for Graffins opus on the formation of his naturalist views on topics such as the non-existence God, science and human existence, as well as a comparative anthropological discussion of the evolution of man and punk rock, well, even I as a grown woman struggled in places- tho it is indisputably a fab book. In fact I recommend all three to those of you who enjoy a music based book.
So I shall, for the five hundredth time today, pop our books back on the shelf and try and garner Sydney’s interest in something a little more age appropriate!

Lol! We have the same problem, Lexie has an a collection of books that any children’s library would be envious of but always goes for the books of myself! Like your LO she always takes the same ones, one of books about having a baby, a book on domestic abuse! And one of my OH’s brain teaser puzzle books, who knows what is going on in her little mind!
