A Little Less Me Part 5

I have now been following the Weight Watchers plan for 8 weeks and have so far lost 17lbs. I am really pleased. 2lb a week is a great weight loss rate, fast enought to see results, but slow enough to be sensible.

One of the keys for me has been portion control. At the beginning of the programme weight watchers provided me with two items that I have found indispensable- scales and measuring spoons. Too often on diets I have guessed. And that can go one of two ways- too smaller portions might lead to weight loss but leave you hungry, too big and you get no where! I got into the habit of weighing my homemade meals so I accurately know the points I am using. The same with the spoons for spreads and sauces etc.The ability to eat the right sized portions is not only important for weight loss, but also so that I can maintain it once I reach my goal, not surprisingly a sensible portion of pasta is about half of what I would have served myself previously!

I have to put my hands up and say that although I am having success with the plan it isn't always easy, and I have found complacency setting in a little from time to time in the last fortnight- I have had to remind myself of my end goals! Weight watchers is great for moral support tho, and I do go on the website and read success stories when I am struggling and they definitely give me the 'I CAN do it' boost!' And of course I have had my fellow BritMums team for added support too!

I have 4 weeks left of my initial 12 week period, and my goal was to lose 21lb in this time and I hope I will be able to come back in a few weeks with positive news!

  3. That is very very impressive, also great to see a consistent rate of loss, much more likely to stay off than if it's done quickly.
Hope the next 4 weeks go well and you can then give yourself a little treat at christmas :)
