One of the keys for me has been portion control. At the beginning of the programme weight watchers provided me with two items that I have found indispensable- scales and measuring spoons. Too often on diets I have guessed. And that can go one of two ways- too smaller portions might lead to weight loss but leave you hungry, too big and you get no where! I got into the habit of weighing my homemade meals so I accurately know the points I am using. The same with the spoons for spreads and sauces etc.The ability to eat the right sized portions is not only important for weight loss, but also so that I can maintain it once I reach my goal, not surprisingly a sensible portion of pasta is about half of what I would have served myself previously!
I have to put my hands up and say that although I am having success with the plan it isn't always easy, and I have found complacency setting in a little from time to time in the last fortnight- I have had to remind myself of my end goals! Weight watchers is great for moral support tho, and I do go on the website and read success stories when I am struggling and they definitely give me the 'I CAN do it' boost!' And of course I have had my fellow BritMums team for added support too!
I have 4 weeks left of my initial 12 week period, and my goal was to lose 21lb in this time and I hope I will be able to come back in a few weeks with positive news!

ReplyDeleteYes! I ordered a dress with Owls on it!?! Remains to be seen if I like it on yet! Thank you :)
DeleteBrilliant news and massive well done to you :)
ReplyDeleteThat is very very impressive, also great to see a consistent rate of loss, much more likely to stay off than if it's done quickly.
ReplyDeleteHope the next 4 weeks go well and you can then give yourself a little treat at christmas :)
