Question Time

The delectable Elizabeth at MommaTwo has asked very nicely that I answer some questions. She was ever so kind, and turned the interrogation light off after only a few minutes, and the threats to my hamster were moderate in nature. (There is no hamster. But she does have an Owl bag. I am not suggesting that any Owls were hurt in its acquisition, but if I was Hedwig I would certainly be on my guard) So here goes:-

Where do you do most of your writing/blogging?
In my lounge with a sleeping toddler in my lap. I use my iPod/iPad for writing, and then mess about making it look pretty on laptop. Or at least I would, but my laptop is more of a craptop, and therefore what happens is I write while baby sleeps, then later I have apoplectic fits as it takes me an hour to add a picture where I want it. If Mr Dell is reading my blog please take pity on me and send me a new one so blogging doesn’t make me punch laptops in the face screen on a more or less daily basis. And so Syd doesn’t start saying ‘oh you total arse monkey’ at his toys when they don’t work properly. And if Mr Kipling is reading, please send cake- it won’t help the laptop situation- but I do like cake.
What books were your childhood favourites?
The Magic Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton was a huge favourite. As a small-ish girl I dreamt of Moonface and Pop biscuits and trips to the Land of Do-as-you-please.
A little older and I loved reading about Katy and what she did, as well as what she did next, before moving onto Stephen King and his ilk once I hit double figures.
Have you ever googled yourself and been surprised at what you found?
No. Hang on a sec……

No. No surprises there.

What is your favourite time of day and why?
I like a bit of solitude, so sometimes I get up before the rest of the house for a coffee in peace before the mayhem of the day begins.

I like cuddling a warm sleeping bundle of small boy, because it’s cold, and he is warm, and beautiful, and smells good.

I like it when all those I love the most are at home and happily occupied. I like to know they are all safe and happy.

I like having baths and lying down. I like days that include nights out, or seeing friends, and when Doctor Who is on.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?
Um………I would never allow there to be a film of my life. That would be freaky. But if must pick then I choose Harry Hill in a Kylie ‘The Charlene Years’ wig.
One material possession I could not live without?
A music player of some kind. I don’t mind if its my iPod or my record player. I don’t get to listen to music as much as I might like, but of all the forms of diversionary noise and entertainment that fill our lives, music is the one I would most hate to live without.
Have you ever been naked in public?
All the time. I just hide my nakedness under my clothes. But seriously there was an incident in a hotel corridor. But nobody else was there. So it isn’t really public is it….
What/who/where was your first proper kiss?
Richard. He was a skating steward at the Ice Rink. I was 13. The kiss was horrible. I dumped him and did no further kissing for a few years! Oddly I bumped into him years later and he still held a grudge because I finished with him. I should have held a grudge because he put me off snogging for years!

*turns page to check haven’t missed a final question*
Did that once in an exam- not a good move. But on this occasion there is no secret question on the back, I am done, so I can now pass it on to….
Jo at The Adequate Parent, because she is lovely, and so is her blog.

The first time I googled my married name, I was surprised to see a lot of mentions of ‘Who the f**k is Erica Price?’ – an Australian play it seems, but a bit disconcerting.
