50 Book Challenge 2013

Posted by on Jan 3, 2013 in Books | 16 comments

One of my New Year resolutions was to read more. Before Syds arrival I worked in a bookshop and read 2-3 books a week. Since his arrival I have read about 6 in total. Must get back into the habit, and in a timely fashion one of my favourite bloggers, Mama Owl, wrote about challenging herself to read 50 books this year. So I am going to join in. I am not sure I will reach 50, but it’s good to have a goal that puts reading back on the agenda as a priority.

I am no longer privy to my large discount on new books so will rely on a mixture of charity shops, e-book bargains, and hand me downs! Tho am sure some newbies will sneak in…. Do let me know if you have read something fabulous, I love a recommendation!

I will post my progress!

Good for you! I love reading too, but the more I blog, tweet and read other blogs, the less I read books, which is a real shame. I read 27 books last year. I suspect it will be less this year. I review most of them on my blog, so I’ll have a recommendation (or otherwise) every couple of weeks!

I read quite a bit but don’t keep track of how many so may have to join in with this.
I’ reading The Snow Child at the moment, it’s not the kind of book I normally read but am enjoying it, well worth checking out!

Fantastic, so pleased to have you joining in xx

I’m reading “dress your family in denim and corduroy” by David Sedaris and loving it

  5. Mari's World

I love this idea! I haven’t read a book since the twins arrived due to lack of time but can now scratch some back – I’m joining in, so glad I popped over :) and best of luck. I got Casual Vacancy JK Rowling for Christmas so I’ll start with that

I used to read about one or two books a week back in the day when I used to commute to London every day. Now it takes me forever to read a book which is a shame because I love reading. I know I’d never read 50 books in a year these days so I am hoping to read at least one book a month this year.

I’m joining in with this too… done with my first book but really didnt enjoy it much. Perks of being a wallflower. I felt totally disappointed!
