New Year is done.
I took my decorations down.
And the diet re-starts on Monday.
Bleak??
NO! Not at all....I have things to look forward to this year.

| The tree may be down, but the flamingo stays...I am going for tropical....in midwinter.... |
Can't wait for our holiday at Center Parcs in March, and the fact that it will involve swimsuits is all the motivation I need for the diet!
I have tickets to see Green Day in the summer. I have loved them for a long time. And this time Betsy is coming with me, she likes them too, and she loves the support act. We will make a weekend of it, with a stopover in London and a trip to the Tate modern before coming home on the Sunday.
I am going to the Britmums blogging conference. I am nervous, but really looking forward to meeting people who have become good friends over the past few months. Am especially looking forward to meeting Jo, and staying at her house so I can rifle through the record store bag collection, and admire her Marmite museum. I also hope to get to a Tots100 event, child care allowing!
I am going to be 40 in July. Now that may not be a reason to celebrate- but my Mum is going to have Syd (and the big kids!) for the night so me and my other half can go away somewhere to celebrate my old age. If I can get Syd to sleep better by then she said she may even do two nights! I can't wait to spend some time as a couple on our own. As most of you with kids know, raising them together is an amazing experience, but it doesn't leave much time for all the reasons why you fell in love in the first place, and I am looking forward to having some child-free fun!
And that's just the big stuff. There is all the small things to enjoy too. Watching my children grow and change. Spending time with those that I love. New music and books to enjoy. There will be a hundred small things a week that make me smile. And probably a hundred small things a week that annoy me, but you know, look on the bright side!!
What are your plans for the year?

I can't believe you didn't mention admiring our downstairs loo and its fabulous picture on the wall hehehe (clue - a disc)
ReplyDeleteWe will have FUN! It's going to be a FAB 2013! Can't wait to meet you too - oh god, I had a dream about you the other night - we went to some blogger organised thing, it was like a Ben & Holly doll production line and we had to make a certain number of dolls before Christmas and package them up. I think we managed - then H woke me up anyway.
I didn't mention the toilet art as am diverting suspicion away from myself in the event of it going 'missing'. Perhaps we should start a toy factory?!? xx
Deletehaha! I am forever forgetting it's there. People wil either think I'm mad or amazing (and I'm neither!) - I've got two Cocteau Twins discs too which I'm going to sneak up when Shaun isn't looking. He'll never realise. Especially as they don't have my name on them….
DeleteI too am turning 40 and going to BritMums live!! see you there lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteParty time! :)
DeleteI hope that 2013 brings you so much fun, I really do want to get to a bloggy meet up at some point but then when they come about finances don't stretch or getting to them seems impossible and I just opt for the not going!
ReplyDeleteYes, not cheap once you factor in transport etc, luckily I am staying with a friend which makes it a bit cheaper, but I will only be doing the one! Looking forward to learning something new and meeting some people in real life.
DeleteI can't believe how many bloggers are turning 40 this year! There ought to be a #40club for you all (like our #50club last year *sigh*)
ReplyDeleteYou are never 50?? Bugger me you look great on it! And yes, there are a few of us aren't there, 1973 was obviously a great year!
