FIRST THERE WAS CAKE........
We made cake. Delicious cake. Honeycomb, white choc chip, vanilla, chocolate cupcakes. Flavour combos by Max, eaten by all of us, and very good they were too! We used a basic vanilla cupcake recipe.
- 110g butter or margarine.
- 110g caster sugar
- 2 free-range eggs
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- 110g self raising flour
- 1-2tbsp milk
We creamed together butter and sugar, then mixed in the eggs and vanilla extract. Then added the flour, and milk to loosen. At this point you can get inventive! We halved the mix- added cocoa and white choc chips to one half, and honeycomb pieces to the other. Then baked at 180 for 10-15 mins. We made both chocolate and vanilla buttercream, and once the cakes were cooled we iced them, and topped with extra white choc chips and honeycomb pieces. Yummy!
NEXT CAME MURDER.......
Solicitor C M Forall has been murdered in his bed. But The Ciscos are on the case. We donned our deerstalkers, dug out our magnifying glasses and did a murder mystery trail. Purchased from Treasure Trails these are a fab idea for older kids. You get a trail and clues to follow to eliminate murder weapons and suspects, while also discovering facts along the way. We had loads of fun, and split over 2 days it took us 3 hours to complete. At £5.99 that is not bad at all, and I will definitely buy them again!
THEN IT WAS COMEDY'S TURN......

AND FINALLY THE MOVIES.........
We went to see Wreck-It Ralph. It was brilliant. Max is a gamer, so he absolutely loved it, and I always like a good kids film. And this is a properly good one with all the vital ingredients - adventure, fab plot, brilliant characters and a warm heart! Ace stuff!
We had a great half term, sadly it is back to school today tho, (when I say sadly, I mean while celebrating how much more cake eating time there is in the day when only one of them is at home...)
