In the dark and the cold and the damp of mid-winter, it is easy to feel the blues, but a little treat can go a long way to adding a little light into the week. It doesn’t need to be expensive, my purse is mostly full of lint and cake crumbs, but even a pound or two on something frivolous can cheer me up!

Cadbury chocolate popcorn

Chocolate. Yes. I know. The diet. Hmmm. Well, it has been too damn miserable for it this week, so a slab of the sweet stuff with a cup of tea is what the doctor ordered.

Heart shaped cookie cutters

Cookie Cutters. I don’t do Valentines day, but I do do cookies any day and I couldn’t resist these at a bargain price to add to my selection of cutters. Am looking forward to making simple sweet pastry shapes with Syd soon!

Skull bracelet

New Jewellery. I splashed out the princely sum of £2.50 on a skull bracelet from Top Shop. Last of the big spenders me, love it.

Nick sharratt toddler books

New Books. OK, they are new books for Syd- but if you haven’t come across these two I highly recommend them for a burst of colourful paper engineered interactive joy!

What have you treated yourself to lately?

I bought an egg mayonnaise sandwich from Pret a Manger to save schlepping the usual crust and cheese to work!
