While the sun shines..

I have been busy the last few days, the sun has been shining, my other half had 4 days off work, so we have been out having fun. Therefore I have not given any consideration to the kind witty and informed writing you have come to expect. (HA!) Instead I offer you a selection of smug ‘look how much fun we have had’ family photos.

On Thursday last week, me and Syd pottered down to Weymouth on the train to meet up with Lynn from Baby-Steps and her lovely family. We have been chatting on twitter for a year, and started blogging about the same time. It is the first time either of us have met up with another blogger in the real world, and we were both a bit nervous, but actually as soon as I saw her she felt like an old friend, and Syd and I had a lovely afternoon with Lynn, David and the gorgeous Holly on the beach.

On Friday my lovely man was off work, meaning he had a four day weekend, yay! Over the course of the long weekend we strolled by the river, fed the ducks, played in the park, visited friends in their new house, spent time in a couple of beer gardens, went to a car boot sale, played with water beads, took a trip to the Animal Park, and generally had a bunch of fun!
Syd’s highlight was definitely our visit to Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park. He loves animals at the moment, and was delighted to get up close to sheep, cows, alpaca, and more, and enjoyed chasing the ducks too! We also had a wander around the formal gardens and a potter down to the lake. The gardens have lots of little hidden areas, and room like places, with hedges and gates and secret benches. They are akin to something from a children’s novel, and the BEST place ever for hide and seek. The lake and house are gorgeous, and there is lots to explore. It is an inexpensive day out, and really enjoyable for all ages, especially in the glorious sunshine.

Sounds (and looks) like a fabulous weekend. We did too many boring jobs, but at least went out for a walk in the hills in the sun yesterday 🙂
