London Baby

Me and the daughter escaped for an adventurous weekend in London. Saturday found us at the Emirates to see Green Day, the reason for our trip! And it was EPIC. We screamed, shouted, danced, sang, laughed, cried and had a feckin’ ball! Luck provided us with a spot in the golden circle, which meant we had a great view near the front of a vast crowd. Support slots from All Time Low and Kaiser Chiefs set the mood perfectly, and Green Day were beyond amazing as always. It was our first time going to a big gig like that together, and Betsy had never seen Green Day before. It was a great mother-daughter bonding experience, tho we also caught up with a few of my long standing fellow Green Day Freaks!

On Sunday we visited the Tate Modern,

Cannot possibly do justice to the weird and wonderful sights in a few photos.

followed by a wander over the Millennium Bridge and a trip on the London Eye,

before heading home having had a perfect weekend. It was a total delight to have some one to one time with my almost adult daughter, she was ace company!

  1. How brilliant! To see your favourite band and have some special grown up bonding time with your daughter is amazing. Sounds like you had a brilliant time. So glad you were able to get away. X

  2. Oh, and I love Kaiser Chiefs too!

    • They were ace!

  3. It was a great day

    • Fab wasn’t it!

  4. Such lovely photos – you obviously have an amazing relationship with your daughter which is lovely to see. Sounds like an amazing weekend.

    • We had a lot of fun!

  5. Oh Wow, I would love to see Green Day live! Looks absolutely fab :)

    • I have seen them several times and they are always brilliant! :)

  6. WOW. Brilliant. You both look like you had a fabulous time! Hope I can do cool things like that when Little A is older. X.

    • It is probably the first time it has felt like being away with an equal rather than a child, although the inequality was still hugely in play when it came to who paid for stuff! Am lucky that we have some shared interests, and hope the same applies when the boys are older!

  7. You look like sisters!

    • Bless You! X

  8. Love Tate Modern! Excellent day out! x
