All The Small Things – Jelly and Poo

Am joining in with Mummy Never Sleeps ‘All The Small Things’ linky this week, because, you know, it is good to remember the time when the lights turned green at the perfect moment rather than focusing on the times they made you wait.

So here are some recent highlights:-

We had an awesome afternoon at the local Sealife Center at the weekend and now I want some jellyfish as pets. But only if I can have a funky colour changing light tank like the one at the aquarium. I could have watched these globulous orbs for hours, they have a beautiful weirdness, almost alien.

Syd did a poo in his potty. A glimmer of light in the sea of potty training hopelessness. OK so I could have done without him wandering the room with the poo sliding out the side of the potty as he went, but you know, look for the positives and all that.

Betsy passed her driving test. This is awesome, both because she is obvs a genius for passing first time and the cost of the lessons were breaking the bank. It is also terrifying because in a couple of weeks, when her car is legal, she will be out there on her own – scary! And it is proof that she wins against me in the game of life – I still can’t drive.

I got shortlisted in the BiBs. For being funny. Which is ace, but has the effect of immediately rendering me incapable of thinking of anything funny to say, so you will have to make do with me and the bezzy mates favourite joke from childhood :-

‘Ask me if I am a banana.’

‘Are you a banana?’

Cue hilarity. No idea why. A proper pair of oddbods we were. And still are.

Now I come to write this I am aware of just how many snippets of joy I get in my life, I could continue for pages, but I won’t because so many of the small things are personal and therefore not of that much interest to you lot. I feel lucky. I feel lucky to be happy, healthy and loved. Life is good at the moment. *drinks to that*

Ha ha ha…. Poops are a constant source of amazing pride in this house, I have two boys and one on the way, and we celebrate them constantly. As for the banana joke, I am caught in the land of chicken crossing the road jokes…without funny punchlines *cry*

Love this post. Yes, you are funny! Good news on the driving test, I think, though cue many late nights waiting for her to come in….Parenting, who’d do it huh? (oh yes, us….)

Congratulations to Betsy πŸ™‚ I still haven’t passed my driving test and I’m 38 in July. This saddens me because I love driving and would dearly love the freedom of having a car and not having to rely on the husband.
Funds won’t allow me to take the lessons and test yet but I’m determined to do it soon. Maybe it can be my 40th birthday present to myself!

Congratulations to Syd and Betsy! Both awesome moments on the journey to independence!
Our favourite is: “Knock, Knock”, “Who’s there?”, “Poo-poo head”. And there is ends. With three year old twin boys giggling hysterically that mummy fell for it again.

Syd is 3 in three months time, and this was a lucky incident rather than a regular occurrence, he still insists on nappies generally – am sure they will both get there!

Congrats to Betsy on passing her driving test, I can remember mine, just about. We are trying to toilet train at the moment – so hard to do!
