We visited the Bridport Vintage Fair yesterday. I have banned myself from buying anything while we are househunting, because you just don’t know what will fit/suit wherever we end up living next, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t take photos!
Here are a few of the things I loved :-
This car. Oh I want this car. I can’t drive and don’t have a drive to keep it on, which is lucky, or I would not have been able to resist. Don’t look too closely at the rust, just imagine a day out, picnic in the boot, head scarf on, music playing – perfecto…..
And of course I would need a fancy new frock to wear in my fancy new car. I adored this deep blue one – sadly I doubt it would have fitted and it would have ended up relegated to the wardrobe along with all my other fancy frocks that rarely get an airing….
I like a nice knocker, and this bull one appealed to me, just need a suitable new door to pop it on…..
This collection of pipes reminded me of my Granddad. I used to adore the appley scent of his pipe tobacco when I was a girl.
If there was one thing I would have loved to buy, it was this bar – it is in the shape of the front of a boat, and sadly wasn’t for sale – which is lucky for the kids as I would have had to leave them behind to fit it in the car. Bit of a blurry indoor pic, but you get the idea. Now, where can I buy me a Captains hat?
And I would need cocktail prettiness to go with it, be rude not to.
Finally, I have a bit of a thing for typewriters. One day I will go old school and you will all have to sit by the letter box waiting for my latest gems to pop through of a morning.
We had a lovely hour pottering around, must remember to go without a toddler next time though, there is nothing more likely to strike fear into the heart of a parent than a toddler in a china filled shop……aaarrgghhh!
How did you spend your weekend?
