A Walk In The Woods

All of a sudden it feels very wintry. The fire is on, we are all layered with jumpers and stew is the order of the day. But not only is it chilly, it is beautifully so – the sky is brilliant blue. We took advantage of the sunshine to head out for a stroll in our local woods, Betsy is keen to get back to photography after a break, and me and Syd tagged along to keep her company.

These are my photos, not hers. She prefers real film to digital and thus hers still sit in their rolled up form awaiting development. I am too stupid for a proper camera, I just bought myself a nicer digital, but haven’t dared take the auto mode off yet – still it takes a nice snap!

We had a gorgeous walk in the woods, finding logs that looked like creatures, spotting tiny spiders amongst the undergrowth, and stomping in mud. Then it was home for hot chocolate by the fire. Perfect.

I just love the colours for photographing at this time of year. Everything seems to have a lovely subtle golden hue to it.

There’s something about those low-sun shots that you couldn’t mistake for any other season.
My forte is stews so I’m always relieved when it gets a bit chillier as I then know what I’m doing!

This looks so good – you can;t beat a walk in the cold, running about and kicking leaves before hot choccie o’clock!

I have officially dug out my thick winter socks now so roll on Christmas!

Ah gorgeous photos Sonya. Really like the one of Thomas Hardy’s house and of course the croc lurking in the undergrowth! Lovely. x

I LOVE finding those gorgeous woodland dens when we’re trampling through crunchy leaves in the woods! Gorgeous post. Totally sums up how I feel at this time of year! x
