Christmas Cisco Style

Our trees are up, and the festive glow is finally kicking in. I have let house hunting worries drift to the back of my mind until the New Year and all is happy and calm. Who could be grumpy when you’re surrounded by this lot….

We have two trees. A gorgeous and traditional real noble fir. The smell of Christmas hits you when you walk in the room and it looks just beautiful.

Then I have my Kitschmas corner. A white fake tree adorned with glitter skulls, flamingo lights and topped with a hula girl. The two combined sum me up pretty well – part traditional, part kitsch. One tree just isn’t enough for me!

We took the kids for the yearly visit to our local garden centre on Saturday, to view their fabulous displays of decorations. We have a tradition where we each choose one new tree decoration every year. This year went slightly wrong. We may have bought more than one each. I may have overspent slightly, but on the plus side I finally managed to ditch the last of the cheap multi-pack plastic baubles and have an eclectic and wonderful mix of far nicer ones – my theory is I will have these forever now, so it’s a bargain in the long run isn’t it…. 😉

Yes it is a bargain in the long run. I’ve consigned my beautiful glass tree decorations to the loft until our boy is older and bought mostly chocolate ones this year – at least they won’t create clutter 🙂

I havent dared put chocolate ones on – I think Syd would have a field day if I did, and they certainly wouldnt be there very long!

We really need to do something festive with the kids but are just regrouping after a hospital stay. Love your Hawaiian dancer on your tree, she’s fab!

Yay! Love your Christmas decorations, they really are very you! We overspent massively on decorations this year, but we’ve got a real tree for the first time since we had kids and it’s our first Christmas in our new house, so I told myself that was fine!

A New house definitely needs new decorations (files that away as next years excuse for over-spending!)

Oh yes they are very you, those decorations. We have always done the new decorations each, every year too. I think it gives you a lovely collection although one year they all chose large, horrible baubles and I conveniently leave those in the box. Your decorations look lovely and I hope you have a lovely Christmas
