So this is the thing, me and my lovely brain twin Mary from Keynko are big lovers of the stuff. No, not booze (well, that too) but I mean bits and bobs and knick knacks, collectibles and vintage tat of all kinds. Books, toys, homemade, heirlooms, antiques and modern classics. We really love all the stuff. Minimalism is not a word anyone would use to describe our home styles.
In our effortless wisdom we decided we would start a little linky in which we, and hopefully you, can share treasures and the stories behind them. It will give us something to write about and also the opportunity to be nosy! This week for an easy start we are sharing our favourite Christmas presents from the recent festivities, and would love to see what you lot unwrapped too.
This year saw me add to my ever growing book and vinyl collection.
I have finished the two novels, Us by David Nicholls and Funny Girl by Nick Hornby, and can highly recommend them both. Am hugely enjoying dipping in an out of David Mitchell’s anthology, and am about to get all over Russell Brand.
I am chuffed with my Pixies vinyl, you can’t beat vinyl I don’t think. It is big and beautiful in a way CDs never quite managed, and although my heroine Kim Deal is sadly departed, I still have a soft spot for them Pixies.
I also got a dog for Christmas. I know, you aren’t supposed to do that, but this is a little different – no poo to clear up, no walkies required, as it is a remote control K-9. I love Doctor Who so this is the perfect dog for me – affirmative master.
If you would like to join in please link up below, looking forward to visiting and sharing your posts. We also have a pinterest board here which we will add your posts to. There is a lovely shiny badge featuring Bowie Bear (after all the linky is named after one of the Bowiemaster’s songs) which is utterly optional but you will make us smile if you include it on your post, and please do visit others who join in (if anyone else does, could be just us whistling in the wind….)
Next Tuesday Mary will be hosting over at Keynko with the lovely theme of ‘Heirlooms’. We would love to see the bits and bobs that have been passed down to you and hear the stories behind them.
Love Miss Cisco XXX
Adding in a late entry from Actually Mummy whose post about Chocolate Oranges and the link they provide between Christmas past and present really made me smile. 🙂
