My daughter is rediscovering her love of photography and requested heading out somewhere yesterday to take some snaps. It had to be somewhere that would also occupy a three year old, so we settled on a trip to West Bay. We are lucky enough to live a few miles from there, and seeing it on Broadchurch this week reminded me how beautiful it is and how we were overdue a return visit.
Boy it was cold and windy, but so, so stunning too. We slipped and slid our way up and down the towering hills of shingle. We looked for pretty stones. We ran away from the stinging winds to revive ourselves with hot chips on the harbourside. And my daughter snapped away. On my camera, (hers currently being a bit broken) which meant I had to rely on my trusty phone for my own snaps. The following are a combination of her snaps and mine.
Having got more than our prescribed dose of very fresh air we decided on a visit to Molly’s Den in Bridport for hot chocolates and vintage mooching. This recently opened warehouse is packed with all sorts of pretty things, vintage delights, gorgeous furniture, frocks and hats and all manner of fabulous stuff. It also has a very cute rock’n’roll themed cafe, and importantly a kids play area with toys and bricks and the like to occupy Syd. Betsy was able to sneak off and take some stylish photos of the bits and bobs that caught her eye, (I will save them for another day as this post is already a bit photo heavy), and Syd had some cake and a play while I warmed my bones with a hot drink. A perfect Sunday.
How was your weekend?
