We are on Camp Bestival countdown here – a week tomorrow we will be on our way, ready for a weekend of amazing fun! This year the theme is ‘Go Wild’ and although we do not go the whole hog with fancy dress (I know – party poopers huh!) I thought it would be fun to make Syd something to wear.
We settled on making a simple Wild Crown. We went on a bit of a wander and found some sticks, then on a trip to the craft shop where we grabbed some colourful feathers and fabric leaves. Then we gathered a bit of A4 card and the rest of our bits and bobs and sat down to get creative.
Firstly we cut the card in half, then using Syd’s head as a guide, taped it back together to make a simple band around his head. Then we had fun with all our bits and bobs, some strong glue, washi tape and sellotape (sometimes all 3 – feathers can be a bugger to adhere to stuff!). I am pretty pleased with the result – he is too. He wouldn’t have his pic taken wearing it – think he is bored of Mummy wielding a camera for blog purposes, but I think you can just about make out his cheeky face peeking over the top of the shot!
Are you headed to Camp B this year? Will you be dressing up?
Love Miss Cisco XXX
Anything with a peacock feather is a winner in my book! I love it!
Great work – he won’t be bored with it when he gets to the festival! Looking forward to seeing you there:-) (Are you coming to the bloggers meet up 4pm on Saturday at the Day Of The Dead bar?) x
