Poo Sandwiches

So we tried the free school lunches, but Syd wasn’t keen. Cheese roll day he would eat the lot, but the cous cous pots were coming home untouched, as were the carrot wraps and egg mayo sandwiches.

So I have started making him a packed lunch, it is a shame to miss out on the freebie, but he was coming out of school starving. I will probably have another try when hot meals start after Christmas.

But for now, sandwiches. Cheese or marmite or cheese AND marmite. And he is eating it all up. In an effort to be a proper lovely mum I have been using cookie cutters to make his sandwiches into interesting shapes – hearts, rockets, dinosaurs – and he loves it.

This morning I asked him what shape he wanted today. “Poo shaped.”

“Poo shaped?!?”

“Yes.”

I don’t have a poo cookie cutter. I tend to prefer my food not to resemble faeces. It’s ok tho, he had a plan:-

“Do triangle ones with lines in them”

“???!”

In the end we established he wanted something resembling the emoji.

poop

I duly sent him off with something vaguely similar (albeit fashioned out of white bread) and really wondering what the lunchtime supervisors were going to make of it.

Plus for future reference I googled ‘poo cookie cutter’ – and they exist. Seriously.

I might get one….

Ha, my son would love that! I make him dinosaur sandwiches and then put raisins underneath them to be the dinosaurs poos. Feel free to steal my awesome idea 😉

They are having the hall re-built currently, but all work should be done by Xmas so should be able to try the hot meals then – whether he eats them is a different matter!

Bleurgh! Obviously ‘poo-shaped’ is more popular than you would think! Like you, it’s not something I would want to be reminded of when I eat, but each to their own! It’s good that Syd is enjoying his lunch now 🙂

Ha ha ha that really made me laugh!! I can’t believe that there is a poo cutter, that is brilliant. We went through the same wth A, we did try the dinners as everyone looked at me stupidly when I said we were going to stick with packed lunches. She hated them. She now has one hot dinner a week on a Friday as it is fish and chips.
