I got married today many many MANY years ago. I got divorced since. In fact I got divorced many many MANY years ago too. Not even this century.

It doesn’t hurt anymore. It doesn’t anything anymore. In fact it was only as my daughter asked the date that I even remembered.

It was a lovely day, the sun shone and I wore purple Dr Martens, and he wore lime green brothel creepers. Bless us and our youth. We are friends now, and of course have our beautiful daughter in common. No regrets, no sadness, in fact it’s like it happened to another person.

In a way it did, I was very young, and now I am very old. Ok- not very old, but considerably more old! I feel like a different person to the carefree girl I was then. He fell in love with the non-mum me. I don’t remember the non-mum me that well. I think she was quite drunk quite a lot, and definitely thinner.

An old chapter, in an old life.

Arh, this is a very nostalgic post. I met my husband at school aged 16, and I often think I am such a different person to the girl he married, less fun, less slim and all that. However, sometimes I also think its good he knew what I was like before I grew up. And I can remember the him with more hair on his head, no hair on his chest and a six pack! X
