An easy recipe for a cheese scone loaf made from ingredients we all have in the house usually - a good stand-by for those run out of bread days!
  • 50g Butter
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • 120ml milk
  • 75g grated cheddar cheese
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 220/gas mark 7
  2. Rub together the butter and flour until they resemble breadcrumbs.
  3. Stir in 50g of the cheese.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir with a knife.
  5. Using your hands, bring the mixture together into a ball.
  6. Flour a clean surface and flatten the ball to about 3 cm thick. (Don't over handle the dough).
  7. Using a knife, score the circle of dough into 8 pieces.
  8. Sprinkle remaining grated cheese on top.
  9. Pop onto a greased baking tray.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes.
