Debenhams Back-To-School Competition

Fashions come and go don’t they, but school uniforms don’t change very much – I showed my kids this picture of me and my brother from somewhere in the region of 1980 and really, apart from the colour of the jumper, not much is different in their uniforms now!

Of course it my day it was usually a knitted jumper – bought if you were lucky, home knitted by a Nana and sized to grow into if slightly less fortunate 😉 (made with love obvs, but rarely the same shape as a human!) . These days my kids all have logo-ed sweatshirts – nice and easy to wash – but the white shirts and grey bottoms are still approximately the same!

Syd starts school in September. He isn’t overly keen on the idea so currently I am having to keep my fingers crossed that is uniform will fit, as he is refusing to try it on! He will try on his school shoes that Debenhams kindly sent us tho – mostly as they are similar to the ones Debenhams provided for his older brother! And Max is all set – new trousers, new shirts and last years jumper which will fit for now – I feel he is on the edge of a growth spurt so am loathe to buy a new sweatshirt just yet!

School uniforms can be an expensive business can’t they, so today I am launching a competition on behalf on Debenhams that may help a bit. The competition is being by hosted by three bloggers – myself, Yellow Days and Little Steps – and there are ten prizes up for grabs, totalling £800.

To enter this competition entrants must create a blog post. Post an old school photo of yourself (be it a class photo, school disco or even sports day), tell us what your child thinks of it and how they would recreate it using at least 5 items from Debenhams school uniform. To enter comment the post URL onto one of the host’s competition pages (this is mine!) and email it to bloggers@debenhams.com .

10 bloggers will win a £50 Debenhams voucher each AND each host will choose their favourite who will also win up to £100 to spend on kids’ clothes and accessories.

Good luck,

Love Miss Cisco XXX

This sounds quite fun. Our school uniform varied quite a lot, but it was Aston Villa colours which I don’t find especially attractive.

this is a fantastic prize on a great page – love the school pics – it reminds me of me and my sisters – we all went to the same school for one year only so it was hard to get us all together
